The two part Contractor Hinge Jig is a portable fully adjustable block template set designed for recessing hinges in wooden doors & frames using a plunge router.

  • It is easy to use with minimal setting-up time, completing the job both accurately & quickly.
  • Used on-site & in joinery shops to increase productivity with excellent results.
  • Fully adjustable apertures for fire door requirements and renovation work.
  • Can be used on both inside and outside doors, rebated frames and on maximum 25mm thick fixed stops.
  • Ideal for fitting a new door in an old frame.
  • No need for marking out in the conventional way.
  • Quick & simple to set-up as the hinge is used as the pattern.
  • Clean & accurate recesses are achieved every time. Suitable for timber based doors & square butt hinges.
  • Use with a light duty plunge router with 1/4 inch collet.
  • Long reach router cutter required, 12mm diameter with 70mm overall length.
  • Adjustable edge guides with preset for hinge of 20mm, 25mm and 30mm

2-Part Skeleton Hinge Jig

A precision routing jig to recess square butt hinges in timber doors and frames. Delivers clean recesses and pinpoint accuracy with minimal set-up and without the need for marking out in the conventional way. Used with a light duty ¼” router, the jig can be used for new, renovation and Fire Door installations.

Features

Adjustable Quick-Release Aperture Blocks are used to set the hinge position and length, and feature Trend’s tool-free, patented* thumb-turn locking mechanism for fast, accurate adjustments.

Adjustable Edge Guides are used to set the hinge leaf width and can be positioned using indexed locations (20, 25, and 30mm) or anywhere within the open channel, for non-standard widths up to 35mm.

Lightweight Anodised Aluminium Rails for optimum strength, durability, accuracy and a smooth router running surface.

Fire Door Compatibility allows the 2nd hinge to be positioned 20” from the top of the door.

Bradawl Attachment allows the jig to be quickly secured to doors and frames (included).

Aluminium End Plate allows the jig to fit both door and frame with minimal adjustment.

25mm Rail Depth allows jig to be used against fixed door stops up to 25mm thick.

    The corners need to be squared with a chisel because the router cutter leaves a radius. We offer a corner chisel ref. C/CHISEL which has a High Speed Blade for this purpose. The chisel is placed in the recess and hit with a hammer, this creates a square corner.
